Preparing a race Porsche before going out on track

Performance work

More power only makes sense when the rest of the car is ready for it.

Performance work starts with a conversation about why. A daily-driven car is modified differently from one destined for track days, and differently again from a car being built for competition.

We work across the whole chain: intake, exhaust, cooling, on forced-induction cars the turbochargers and intercooler, and finally the ECU software. Remapping alone, without the mechanical groundwork, is the quickest way to shorten an engine life.

Before raising anything, we check the condition of the engine. A unit with worn bores or a tired cooling system is not a candidate for higher loads — and we will say so, even if it is not what you want to hear.

01

Naturally aspirated boxers

On naturally aspirated units the gains come from breathing: intake flow, a lower restriction exhaust and work on the manifolds. Smaller increases than with forced induction, but a very clean engine character.

02

Forced induction

There is more headroom here, but also more thermal load. Alongside any boost increase we address charge air cooling, the oil system and fuel pump capacity.

03

The rest of the car

Power without brakes and suspension is a bad idea. On larger increases we propose brake work and an alignment revision at the same time, so the car remains safe to drive.

04

Honest numbers

We do not promise brochure figures. We tell you what a given engine can realistically deliver and where the line is beyond which you are simply shortening its life.

Frequently asked questions

Does more power shorten engine life?

A sensible modification with the right hardware and conservative software — marginally. An aggressive map on standard components with no cooling upgrades — definitely. The difference is in the approach, not in the fact of tuning itself.

What about warranty and roadworthiness?

Power-increasing modifications can affect the manufacturer warranty and the car agreement with its registration documents. We discuss the consequences before starting work so you decide with full information.

How much power can be gained?

There is no single answer — it depends on the engine generation, the budget and whether the car must stay usable every day. Tell us the model and year and we will lay out a few options along with what each one demands mechanically.
